Does it matter – if I’m getting flatter? – you know, more one-dimensional – more functional – at least when I was new it felt like anything could happen – way before I got flattened – no one’s crying for me, I know that – I haven’t got it that bad – just a voice that’s not mine – and a face that’s been designed – to look symmetrical – nothing unconventional – they shaped me with a cookie cutter and baked me in the oven – put me in see-through clothes with nothing underneath them – then they put me on TV – or on a stage where everyone could see me – but no one can see me – I think they call that irony – a bit like making me out to be – this Twenty First Century – ICON – well, anyone born after 2000 can see that’s SOOOOOO WRONG – they’ll put me in the history books to set an example – of patriarchal – oppression – of female submission – or maybe – they’ll forget me completely – yeah, that’s more likely…
